Visit prison Bangkok Thailand

One of the 'Cleanest' Kodaks of the "Big Tiger" I have ever come across. Looks almost totally benign, don't it? Weel the following lads, most of whom I associated with between 2002 to 2011. DO NOT think so!

A parade of prisoners arriving at court.
Note that they're Bare Footed.
Hi everyone,
I've been concerned that many of the Kodaks that have either been sent to me, or, since my being Kicked out of the HMP Prison System, I've managed to find for myself, have either been confiscated by areseholes from the HMP System - principally Shirley Butcher of OMU HMP Dartmoor, or other sundry screws who refuse to accept the truth about; themselves, their Government and the possibility of what I've been saying about life in the Hilton can be documented.

This is an ongoing Blog entry which acts as a repository for imagery I can source. Periodically I'll be adding new images, and including commentary to those Kodaks. You can help me please. If you have kodaks from the Hilton - just Bang Kwang or other Thai prisons that your loved ones have been held in - then feel free to email them to me with some explanatory detail and I with upload them with credits.

As I intend this blog to be on-going, I DO ENCOURAGE you to visit often and check for any new updates that have been made. Maybe you've been good enough to send me Kodaks from your own collections, or alternatively I've managed to locate 'Fresh Fish'.

The usual disclaimer and caveat:
I caution all readers of this blog to acquaint themselves with the alert in the opening paragraphs of the diary entry entitled 28/11/11 - 7/7/12.
Russian Based Imagery/Русский образ

A Co-De of Felix. this is either Ulalof Renas or

Milikief Makas
Felix Cheremnich

Felix and 3 others pulled a bank Job in Pattaya. 1 Gang member was shot dead during their escape bid. Felix was with me in Dan 2, and a fuller account can be read (English) on the net. I'll dig out the various URLs later.

The gang escaped on a speedboat but three were rounded up later with Cheremnich Vilich (sic) originally given the death sentence which was reduced to a 33 year sentence after he squealed on the rest of the gang. Further reductions on six occasions over the years saw his final sentence come out at just 13 years and four months.

Felix was a reasonable artist and often sketched subversively accurate drawings of life inside the Hilton: These are just a few. I particularly chuckle at the sketch of Felix and another Russian cockily contemplating the entrance to the Hilton as 'Two Hard Men', both former survivors of the worst that Mother Russia had in the way of prisons, clearly thinking 'Betcha we can cut this dump a new "Ronson". In reality that turned out to be a load of bollocks! Felix himself loved telling all that by comparison Bang Kwang was an 'Easy' prison. In some ways that may have been true as he had 'grassed' on his co-defendants at the earliest possibly opportunity.

Possibly a self portrait

Felix in Muslim Mode
This entry in the Thai news papers was taken at the time he, and 2 of the gang he belonged to were arrested. Also pictured is the member of the Royal Thai Filth, who was moonlighting as a security guard, that Felix shot dead.

Alexander Krebs aka Sean by his friends and 'Craps' by his enemies.

The first Kodak of Sean is from the time of his arrest or the early days of when he was banged up in either Bombat or The Hilton. The second appears to be from when I was with him in Dan 2 of the Hilton.

Sean also went by the monicker "Warlord". There are many stories extant about him. With some justification he believed that he was the 'Boss' of all the European prisoners in the Hilton. This he could only maintain by being a 'Big Spender', frequently 'bunging' the screws.

His source of income came from the sale of his art work but his main source of  revenue was earnt from selling space in the room that he leased from the prison authorities, and from the funds regularly sent to him by several wealthier older women that had 'fallen' for his rough cut Boer charms. The cost of joining the Warlord's "Club" was an initial sign up fee of 2000 Baht, around $50 US from 2002, to 2010 - the time of my sojourn in the Big Tiger.
Thereafter the 6 - 8 other residents of the private cell would be expected to fork out further sums to cover the "bungs" the screws expected on memorable occasions such as birthdays, whenever the gained new qualifications, or perhaps even whenever the arseholes couldn't meet a car payment! All of this made it "too rich for my pocket book". You had to be well heeled to join this group. Besides, you also had to accept the Warlord's bullshit rules about conduct, dress, and a host of other arbitrary nonsense that he saw fit to enforce.
Sean was a South African. For some time he was the only South African in the Big Tiger. He also managed to convert to Judaism after learning that the "Tribe of Abraham" got a monthly handout from the very few Jews resident in BKK. Not being in the least inquisitive as to his bona fides re his "membership" (sic) of the sons of Abraham, I never visually ascertained this. Frankly though I doubt it. Jody "Sleaze" Aggett was arrested in 2001 and this doubled the number of South Africans in Thai prisons. See later for a write up on the "Sleaze".

All in in all not a bad guy, but well deserving of his sobriquet 'Craps'.

The Kodaks I have managed to source  are mostly from after his release.

Gary Graeme Jones

Gary Graeme Jones. Sundry sobriquets: Catweazle, Gimli, Dumbledore, Gandalf. My Arch Enemy in the Hilton, Dicky Bow (See my rant about this SDA (Scottish Department of Arseholes) grade A below, would frequently disparage me with the appelation: Cunt.

Gary circa 2004
During the early days of my captivity in The Hilton - In fact throughout my entire stay there, it was difficult for me to get access to a mobile 'phone. Generalised images were best obtained by having a Thai lad sketch something. The Thais are usually gifted in sketches and some can produce fine work. However, as a rule they are very scared of upsetting the screws; it's a prison offence for Thais to assist Farangs with imagery, interpretations legal assistance and translations; and as such will Render a drawing, think better of it and then destroy it. This was one that survived 'the cut'.

Fortunately few very Kodaks survived over the years.

This was me at the time of my arrest at Dong Muan International Airport, the Customs Detention Hall that some travellers, like myself, find out about the horrors that are perpetuated therein. I.e. The infamous Interrogation suite. These Kodaks were taken before my interrogation. A time when I was unaware of the atrocities awaiting me.

Dickie Bow, aka Julian Guilty

Dickie Bow at a remand appearance at Ratchada court. Standing alongside hime is Rien Parlevliet his Dutch 'Case Partner'.

In this image, Julian Guilty, in a rare repose which betrays his mixed race heritage - and I deon't mean Anglo Scottish! Guilty; I get bored with saying Dickie Bow all of the time; was constantly at pains to deny his mixed blood, and it would pee him off whenever we farangs would allude to it. But then this anal retentive was so uptight about what others were syaing about him a simple, well timed, snigger would press his buttons.

Dicky Bow's 4 Kilo stash of Heroin

Jonathon Wheeler

A pensive Ginger post release
In the same Tradition as Dickie Bow, my fond name for Jonathon Wheeler, is Ginger. By same tradition I mean the manner by which I came to assign nicknames to the British contingent in Bang Kwang, not that Ginger was in any ways a prick; Mad as a Hatter certainly, arsehole no.

More or less within days of booking into the Hilton I learnt the names of the Brits that checked in before and were still in residence; Dickie Bow, Sparks, Andrew Selkirk, to name just 3. Others followed later, you'll be able to find them herein.

Ginger long before I came to the Hilton
Ginger was OK, but when I knew him in Dan 2; he'd already been there a good 10 years. His mental state was shot to buggery. He had these strange delusions concerning the mystical powers that he had developed. He would often prattle on incoherently, cussing out various embassy staff.

Despite The Warlord's frequent claims to have been the longest serving "Farang" inmate in the "Big Tiger", Ginger had logged more time there by far. In fact, it was a close run thing as to whether Ginger or Sparks (John Russell - another Brit) had been there longer.

The image shewn here above had to have been taken long before I came to the Hilton. He is pictured in what I recognise as the Ratchada Court cells, probably just after his arrest and transfer to Bombat.

Michael Connell

Michael Connell

I've written a couple of entries about Michael on the Blog - See HMP Whitemoor, The first 5 Months. My feelings concerning Michael  have undergone a complete reversal. From disliking him intensely, to havng spent some quality (sic) time with him in Whitemoor I consider him a fine fellow. Much of my dislike for Michael was engendered by listening to Dickie Bow. DB's pet name for him was 'Neddy', a not so subtle reference to an ASS formulated by the self confessed brain of Barlinnie.

Scott Hurford aka 'Scotty

Note the England soccer shirt. Supporters would spend a fortune sending them in; and a fortune was made selling them onto the Thais!

Cooking after the Rat Hunt

Steven Wilcox aka 'Leicester (pronounced Lester for our North American Mates)'

Steve is camera shy

This is Steve and his case partner Anthony Flanaghan. Quite an account on these two. As I was due for 'sentencing' in May 2003, both came into Bombat at that time. Steve was with me in D4, and Anthony was in one of the other buildings in the remand centre. Much later both were sentenced in 2004 - as I recall. Steve went straight into D6 on 30 years, and Anthony was initially sent to Death Row D1 and later joined me in D2 on Death Row. I had quite a history with Steve from our time in Bombat and took his side in the drama surrounding their arrest. Later, after Steve repatriated, I got to know Anthony better. By this time he had been shipped over to D5.
Steve though repatriated early and much rested on his getting the terms of his confinement back within these lean and mordent borders to the attention of a UK Judge. Frankly, it is my belief that he failed miserably with this. Much later, after my own repatriation, when I was shipped to HMP Rye Hill, I found myself occupying his old cell there.

Steve was released sentence complete - I'll check the dates - as a result of a successful FF (Fratricides Folly).

Much to add about Anthony. Watch this space Nick F.

Andrew Hawke, aka Selkirk - Think Robinson Crusoe

The acerbic Mr. Hawke

Jody 'Sleaze' Aggett aka Judy, Sleaze and many other dishonourable appellations

Sleaze on a Family visit with son Ryan

Sleaze was caught red-handed along with his girlfriend in their apartment as can be seen from this Kodak.Given that is clearly Sleaze sitting in the corner at the time of his arrest, it's hard to understand  how the Judiciaries arrived at a Not Proven verdict that hadn't been paid for by his parents from Devon, UK.

An Unknown Farang Resident.

Anyone who can identify this picture please do so. I suspect that it might be one of the Kazakhstanis, possibly Sergei. Sergei was a constant companion of Felix - See above - who stuck to him in a manner not too dissimilar from shit on an army blanket.

Stop Press! Thanks to diligent followers, Nick F, This Unknown Farang is now Known.

Harry Nicolaides

Harry NicolaidesHarry Nicolaides is an Australian writer of Greek-Cypriot origin who was imprisoned in Thailand under the draconian Thai lèse majesté laws, for a passage in a 2005 novel of his deemed to defame the Thai monarchy. On 19 January 2009 he was sentenced to three years in prison. He was pardoned on 21 February, after having spent six months in a Thai prison. The book, which up until his conviction had sold fewer than 10 or so copies, was entitled "Verisimilitude". Apparantloy its all about some of the more scurrilous shenanigans of the current incumbent during his playboy days as "Crown Prince".
